Characters and length

Pinterest’s profile help says a username must contain letters, or letters combined with numbers and underscores. It must be 3–30 characters long. Spaces, punctuation marks, and all-numeric names are not allowed. Hyphens and periods are punctuation, so choose another spelling if your usual handle uses them.

An underscore is allowed, so my_brand may be a valid format if that exact username is available. Format and availability are separate checks: a name that follows the rules can still be taken.

Choose a useful variation

Try a name that people can read, remember, and connect to your brand. If your first choice is taken, add a descriptive word or choose another clear variation.
